These questions come up often for people navigating emotional disconnection, broken trust, betrayal recovery, and relationship crossroads.
If you want context first, start with the Relationship Reset Manifesto or explore the Relationship Reset Experience. You can also read client reflections on the Testimonials page.
Family and friends care about you, but they’re not neutral. They’re often invested in outcomes, sides, or protecting you from discomfort.
This work requires a different container. A professional space where your story isn’t judged, managed, or rushed. Where patterns can be seen clearly and conversations can move forward without emotional entanglement.
If you want to understand how the process works, start with the Relationship Reset Experience.
Support is important. So is structure.
Therapy and this work serve different purposes.
Therapy focuses on diagnosis, treatment, and processing the past. It’s essential for mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, or unresolved trauma.
A Relationship Reset is about clarity and direction. It’s focused on what’s happening now, what keeps repeating, and what needs to change going forward.
There’s no diagnosing. No labeling. No pathologizing.
Just clear language, intentional communication, and grounded next steps. Many clients work with both.
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, panic, or mental health distress, a licensed therapist is the right place to start.
My work is appropriate when you’re stable enough to reflect, think, and make decisions, but stuck in relationship patterns, trust rupture, emotional disconnection, or aftermath of betrayal.
If therapy is the better fit, I’ll tell you.
No. My practice is private pay, and that decision is intentional.
Insurance companies generally require a mental health diagnosis, treatment plans, medical documentation, and ongoing reporting to determine whether services qualify for reimbursement.
My work is different.
I support individuals and couples in rebuilding trust, improving communication, navigating betrayal, and gaining clarity about their relationships.
Many of the people I work with are not seeking treatment for a mental health condition. They are navigating one of the most difficult seasons of their lives and are looking for focused, practical guidance to help them move forward.
Whether you are navigating betrayal, emotional disconnection, a sexless marriage, recurring conflict, or simply questioning whether your relationship can work, our conversations are centered on understanding what is happening, communicating more intentionally, and deciding what comes next.
Being a private-pay practice allows our work to remain centered on you, not on insurance requirements. We do not have to assign a diagnosis, justify the number of sessions, or shape our conversations around what an insurance company considers medically necessary.
It also gives us the flexibility to spend the time your situation deserves. Relationships are complex, and meaningful conversations rarely fit neatly into a fifty-minute appointment. That is why my Foundation Sessions are 90 minutes, with additional time reserved afterward if we are in the middle of an important conversation. I never want a meaningful discussion to end abruptly simply because the clock says our time is up.
Many clients come to me after trying traditional marriage counseling or therapy. Others simply know they are looking for a different kind of experience. They are not looking for endless processing. They are looking for clarity, direction, and practical ways to move their relationship forward.
If you are looking for an alternative to traditional marriage counseling, my approach may be exactly what you have been searching for.
These pages explain how the support differs depending on who is in the room and what the relationship needs right now.

You don’t need to be in crisis. You do need to be ready for honesty.
If you want a clear starting point, you can begin at Contact Vanessa.
There’s no fixed timeline.
Some people come for a few focused conversations. Others stay longer to rebuild trust or reset deeply ingrained patterns.
The pace is guided by what you’re working through, not by a package or promise.
A steady resource for clarity, reset, and next steps when you feel overwhelmed or stuck.
Clarity. Stability. Better conversations. Less emotional damage.
Most people report feeling steadier, more self-trusting, and better able to engage without spiraling or shutting down.
I work with individuals, couples, long-term partners, people navigating betrayal, people in emotionally disconnected or sexless marriages, and people facing relationship crossroads.
Betrayal recovery is a specialty. Relationship hard moments are the broader landscape.
For couples support, see Couples Coaching.
Pay attention to how you feel reading their words or hearing them speak.
Do you feel steadied or pressured? Do you feel respected or sold to? Does their language feel clear or performative?
Fit matters. If it’s not right, that’s information, not failure.

A relationship coach focuses on how people relate, communicate, and repair trust.
A life coach typically focuses on broader goals like career, motivation, or personal development.
My work centers on relationships, communication, and recovery after rupture.
Betrayal disrupts safety, trust, and self-confidence.
This relationship reset work helps people:

Self-blame is common after betrayal or emotional neglect.
This work helps you separate responsibility from shame and rebuild self-trust.
That process is quiet, steady, and deeply personal.
Sometimes. Sometimes not.
This work is about clarity, not guarantees.
When both partners are willing to take responsibility, slow things down, and engage honestly, rebuilding trust is possible.
When that’s not present, clarity still matters.

I’m a Relationship Reset Expert and Betrayal Recovery Specialist. I live and work in Westchester County and support clients locally and virtually.
I’ve walked through betrayal myself and rebuilt deliberately, not perfectly. That lived experience informs the work, but it isn’t the centerpiece.
